Actor’s actor is a rising star in Hollywood, as a result of his dramatic turn in the blockbuster film “Dallas Buyers Club.”
The Oscar nominations for cinematography and editing, along with sound editing, are up for grabs Thursday.
The film will receive the best sound editing nomination, and the best cinematography award, after a two-week run.
The film’s director, Quentin Tarantino, is also nominated for best sound mixing and sound mixing for a new music track.
An Oscar for best editing is up for a second straight year, after the winner was given the award in 2013.
Other films nominated for the best music track are “The Greatest Showman,” by R.E.M.; “Thelma & Louise,” by Robert Palmer; “The Piano,” by The Doors; “When Harry Met Sally,” by Joan Baez; “Wings,” by Neil Diamond; and “Sweet Charity,” by Bruce Springsteen.
