When it comes to superhero films, the DC Extended Universe is one of the most successful and influential cinematic universes in recent memory.
This year, the company has announced it will be releasing a new, standalone movie to be titled ‘Batman Begins’.
What does that title mean?
Well, according to the official synopsis, it means that Batman Begins will be the first DC film to follow the original Batman TV series and introduce an entire new generation of fans to the world of DC Comics.
And for those who have been following the recent ‘Dark Knight Rises’ release, the title means a lot more than that.
Here are the five things we learned from the trailer and the DC website’s description of the film: It’s a movie about the Batman mythos and its legacy and its influence on the world The film is the culmination of a story told over the course of decades in the Batman series, with a shared world and shared heroes We are in a world where the mythos is universal The film stars Tom Hardy as Batman, Ben Affleck as Commissioner Gordon, Amy Adams as Catwoman, Diane Lane as Lois Lane, Jason Bateman as Commissioner Harvey Dent, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Keaton as Selina Kyle and Laurence Fishburne as Alfred’s partner The film will be released on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD on December 1st and will be available on Amazon Prime for $49.99 on December 4th.
So, for $149.99, you can get the first Batman movie in more than a decade for a cool $49 a pop.
And, we can’t help but think that this is the best way to see this new Batman movie, if you can.
And let’s not forget that there is a lot of fun and thrills in there.
